Cellulite affects nearly 9 out of 10 women to some degree and is basically fat deposits under the skin that causes that unsightly dimpled appearance. Needless to say, there are numerous products and programs out there that claim to get rid of your cellulite completely and we all know this unfortunately is not true. There are several factors that go into reducing cellulite and this is includes regular exercise, a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water.
Another cause of cellulite is genetics and regrettably this is something we can’t get away from. Luckily, there are steps we can take daily to diminish the appearance of cellulite and one of those includes both consuming and applying coconut oil topically. As I have mentioned in my previous posts, consuming coconut oil increases our metabolism and allows for greater energy throughout the day. With that being said, taking two to three tablespoons a day will undoubtedly make your gym session that much more effective and gets you to that fat burning stage much quicker. This idea of burning fat is known as ketosis, and is a safe and ideal way to rid the body of toxins and stored body fat. To appropriately lose stored body fat this way, which will in turn reduce or eliminate cellulite, dietary considerations must also be considered such as eliminating starch and sugar from your diet. I also mentioned that applying coconut oil right to the ‘cellulite source’ helps reduce the appearance of these not so cute dimples. Massaging coconut oil regularly onto these areas can essentially break up fatty deposits. Since coconut oil is easily absorbed through the skin it will also do a wonderful job of nourishing the area and creating a smoother and softer appearance. Although consuming and applying coconut oil is not going to cure your cellulite 100 percent I know it will help. Personally, I workout six days a week, eat extremely healthy (no processed carbs or sugar), and still had some extra dimples lurking around. Excitingly, over the last year of adding coconut oil to my daily diet and skin care regimen I have noticed the appearance of these fat deposits diminish greatly and I know that is due to the wonderful benefits of coconut oil.
